About this speaker
Lisa Harrington is Registered/Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, earning her MS degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Central Oklahoma. Lisa is also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and a Certified Lifestyle Coach. Lisa serves as the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System’s (ASTHS) Special Diabetes Program for Indians Coordinator/Diabetes and Wellness Program Director and Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country grant coordinator in Norman, OK. Lisa is also the Native Youth Preventing Diabetes Camp Director for 2019-2022 and the Oklahoma Inter-Tribal Diabetes Coalition Treasurer. Additionally, Lisa is the Oklahoma City Local Networking Group Chair for the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). Lisa was honored to receive the ADCES Oklahoma “Rising Star” Award for 2019. During her tenure with the ASTHS, Lisa and her team have achieved CDC “Full Recognition” as a National Diabetes Prevention Program utilizing the Oklahoma Umbrella Project with the CDC. Lisa is passionate about empowering others to live happier, healthier lives through supportive nutrition and lifestyle interventions.
