The Oklahoma Beef Council is a non-profit led by beef farmer and rancher volunteers serving Oklahoma’s 50,000 farming and ranching families through the Beef Checkoff, a federal commodity program under US Department of Agriculture oversight. Our vision is to be a positive difference for Oklahoma farming and ranching families and the greater beef community through serving its mission to enhance beef demand by strengthening consumer trust and exceeding consumer expectations. Oklahoma’s beef farmers and ranchers, through the Beef Checkoff, are committed to providing a wholesome, nutritious food, and to communicating accurate information about beef’s nutritional qualities and the role of beef in a healthful diet. We pledge to provide factual, scientifically supported information about beef to help consumers make informed choices about what they eat. We support the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recognizing that there are a variety of ways to achieve a healthy diet, and further, we believe that the overwhelming scientific evidence shows that dietary balance, variety, and moderation coupled with appropriate physical activity provides the foundation for a healthful life.
